Possible Herpes 2 infection on mouth. Any advice, words of wisdom?

Sigh. I met a man through an online dating site and we seemed to hit it off... after our third date, where we'd done quite a bit of kissing, I broke out 4 days later with two of the biggest blisters I'd ever had on my upper lip.





Some unrelated drama ensued and we are no longer involved, however, he informed me via email this evening that shortly before he was involved with me, he had become ';very intimate'; with a woman who was an HSV 2 carrier. He then said he had some strange, perhaps symptomatic blisters, but not in the usual place (didn't say where, but I'm thinking might've been on his face or perhaps torso).





Internet research says I will likely never have another outbreak once this one is gone, since HSV 2 doesn't stick well to the oral site. And I have a very strong immune system. Anyone with advice, words of wisdom? I intend to go to the department of heath tomorrow to see about diagnosis (I have no health insurance at this time).Possible Herpes 2 infection on mouth. Sorry to hear that you may have caught Herpes. First thing to do is confirm that this is what you actually have. Contact your government sexual health/family planning clinic. They will take a swab of the blisters and let you know if this is what you have. HSV1 and HSV2 can be interchangable in location. eg HSV1 can be on the genitals and HSV2 can be on/around the mouth.

Things to avoid are:: stress, letting yourself get rundown, too much sunlight, chocolate, alchohol and finally, try not to worry too much!

My partner has hsv2 and as of yet i have not had a break out from kissing him.





Apart from needing the occasional medication to help reslove the symptoms of HSV1/2, it really has no health implications at all. So don't worry too much about not having health insurance.

well its most likely that he had HSV2 on his mouth or face because its kind of rare to have herpes on the torso or chest.


he should have told u that he has herpes in the first place. maybe he didn't know what he had was herpes. or was in denial of it being sometihng else (which many people are).


just because the blisters are gone does not mean that the virus itself is gone it will be dormant in your system. any thing could trigger it to break out again.


if u still have the out break it will be easier to test for. if u do not have enough herpes anti-bodies in your blood u may get a few false positives or negatives. u may need to be tested again in a 4-6 months time because symptoms and anti-bodies can take time to build up in your system.


there is a big negative stigma out there when it comes to herpes try to stay strong against it. always let any future partners know that u have herpes before u decide to get serious with them.


i have HSV1 (oral herpes) on my mouth and genitals both from my boy friends healing cold sore i also have HSV2 but just genitally.
